On trims equipped with the Max Trailering Package, this powertrain provides a conventional towing capacity between 10,800 and 11,200 lbs. This optional package also boasts the 5th-wheel/gooseneck towing capacity to a maximum of 10,000 lbs.

6.2L V8 Engine

With 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft of torque, the 6.2L V8 gas engine provides the Denali Ultimate with plenty of towing power. Both the short bed and the standard bed versions of this trim boast a conventional towing capacity of 8,900 lbs., while the 5th-wheel/gooseneck towing capacity varies from 6,300 to 6,600 lbs., depending on the bed length.

Like the 5.3L V8 engine, this powertrain is compatible with the Max Trailering Package that boosts the conventional towing capacity to a maximum of 13,100 lbs.

3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel I6

If you need serious towing capacity, the 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel I6 engine is the best for your needs. This engine comes standard on the AT4 and AT4X trims, pumping 305 horsepower and 495 lb.-ft of torque. With the standard equipment, it delivers a 5th-wheel/gooseneck towing capacity between 5,900 and 7,900 lbs.

The conventional towing capacity varies from 8,700 to 9,300 lbs., depending on the cab and bed configuration. With the Max Trailering Package, this engine boasts a best-in-class conventional towing capacity of up to 13,300 lbs.
